Track League rules

  • Separate league for men and women.

  • 10 points for participating at an event in any race

  • Additional 4 points for achieving a Season’s Best over any distance, or 2 points for getting within 2% of a Season’s Best time.

  • Season’s Bests apply from the first time a distance is completed and are reset if improved.

  • Example of points scoring;

  • Runner takes part in an event in April, completing a 3000m race in 12 minutes. 10 points for participation. The runner then competes in a 3000m race in an event in May achieving a time of 11:45; 10 points for participation plus 4 points for a SB. The runner repeats this in June but with a time of 11:50, getting 10 points for participation and 2 points for getting within 2% of the season best time (11:45).

  • Only exception to the above is for the Night of the Mile PBs; given this is the only time in the calendar that the mile distance is competed, performances from last year or the most recent available time on PO10 will be used as a season’s best.

  • A runner can achieve multiple season’s bests at a single event, but a maximum of 10 participation points only, regardless of the number of races completed.

  • For any queries please email track@hprcrun.co.uk

Track Championships

Similar to the main club road championships, the HPRC Track Championships recognise those who have set the fastest times on the track throughout the season across all track events (not just those in the League) from April to September. Whilst we will endeavour to keep on top of all performances, if you have a result (especially at a non-League event) that is not shown please let us know – track@hprcrun.co.uk

The championships are updated monthly, see keep checking back here, on Facebook and Running Free to see which titles are up for grabs!
