About Us

The club was formed in 1982 and is one of the longest established running clubs in the Nottingham area. We have a strong road running tradition and an extensive cross country and fell running programme. The main focus is our Monday and Thursday training sessions at the National Water Sports Centre.

Who are we?

We are a friendly running club with around 400 members that caters for a wide range of abilities.

Based at the National Water Sports Centre, we meet for club runs on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:45pm, with a designated Duty Runner to help newcomers run with others of similar ability. This includes a steady-paced group on a Monday which runs at the pace of the slowest runner.

We have track sessions in Bingham on Tuesdays at 8pm.

We also have lots of ad-hoc club events and social runs.

Potential new members are welcome to come and try before joining.

Competition

Not everyone wants to run races, but we encourage as many people as possible of all abilities to run for the club. No matter what your level, it could just make the difference! We participate in the Notts AAA Summer League and the North Midlands and East Midlands Cross Country leagues in the winter, as well as numerous other races.

Social Events

We like to think of ourselves as much more than a running club. We have an active social calendar with a number of events throughout the year.

Grand Prix Series

 

The club organises the Holme Pierrepont Grand Prix series, which always attracts a large field of both club and unattached runners.

Our Mission Statement

The club’s mission is to provide a social, friendly running community in the Nottingham area for those interested in taking part in, and supporting, running on all types of terrain.

 

The club is wholly inclusive and it strives for both competitive success at races and simply for our members to enjoy running with other like-minded people.

 

As a member-led club, it aims to provide all with opportunities to contribute and encourage others to achieve their health, wellbeing, and fitness goals.
