Fell Race Championships 2011 This
year's hotly contested championship has come to an end, the results have
been counted, twisted, fudged and verified and I still did not win. So
going back to the usual system of best 3 results from 5 races Mark Salkild
was the clear winner in the men's section. It should be noted that once
again Frank Makin MV70 completed the requisite 3 races to come in overall
6th place and really deserves a trophy but we do not have one. Mary
Mills takes the ladies title again but glad to see that 2 other ladies,
Lorraine Salkild & Gina Grainger completed the series. As
for next year, note that Stuart is back after a few years out and Mary can
be beaten. Anyone who has not tried this discipline before do not be put
off, ask those that have and they should tell you that are good fun events
and if the hill gets to steep just walk, most of us do. Full
